Shirley Ann Wilson, 78, of Carmi, Illinois, died Friday, June 5, 2020, at St. Vincent’s Medical Center in Evansville, Indiana. She was born October 15, 1941, in Detroit, Michigan, the daughter of Robert L. and Verna (Wysocki) Seal.

Shirley enjoyed painting and, in her earlier years, enjoyed playing video games.

Survivors include her son, Dean Wilson of Alaska; half-brother Richard Seal; sister Barbara (Robert) Amidei of South Pasadena, Florida; a granddaughter; and special friends John and Wanda Goff, and Carl and Linda Vinson, all of Carmi.

She is preceded in death by her parents; grandparents Emma and Henry Seal; and son Tim Wilson.

In keeping with Shirley’s wishes, her remains were cremated.

A graveside committal service will be at 2 pm, Wednesday, June 17, 2020, at Concord Cemetery.

Cook Funeral Chapel in Carmi is in charge of arrangements.

  1. Prayers for Shirley, my mom (Betty Dill) her neighbor, will be lost without Shirley, they became really good friends

  2. Shirley was a very good neighbor and close friend to my mother . They were always sharing food, checking on each other, arguing like sisters and just there for each other. Shirley loved sitting outdoors painting pics of the trees and flowers (which she was very good at), and browsing through her mailorder catalogs. She will missed by all of her neighbors as well as family and friends. Rest in Peace, Shirley.
