Marilyn A. Hawkins, 85, of Grayville, Illinois, died Monday, January 11, 2021, at Meadowood Nursing and Rehabilitation in Grayville. She was born October 19, 1935, in White County, Illinois, the daughter of Theodore and Ada (Stuart) Duvall. She was married to Clarence Edward Hawkins and he preceded her in death on October 10, 1994.

Marilyn worked for Spartan Manufacturing in Grayville until Spartan shut down. She also worked for the Grayville Ambulance Service for over 29 years and served part of that time as dispatcher and director. Memberships include Northside Baptist Church in Grayville, Georgia General Baptist Church in Carmi, Illinois and The Eastern Star.

Survivors include sons Terry (Anita) Hawkins of Grayville, Doug Duvall of Loogootee, Indiana; daughter Lisa (Jeff) Kleinschmidt of Evansville, Indiana; brother David (Janet) Duvall of Carmi; sister Wanda Buttry of Carmi; grandchildren Eric (Melissa) Kleinschmidt, Zak (Jamie) Kleinschmidt, Steven (Courtnay) Duvall, Adriana Duvall, Michael (Brooklyn) Duvall, Ciara (Adam) Niehaus, Whitney (Tyler) Howell; 15 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband; sisters Joyce Embry and Vonda Bingman; and daughter-in-law Debra Duvall.

Visitation is 10am to noon, Saturday, January 16, 2021, at Cook Funeral Chapel in Grayville. Burial is in Oak Grove Cemetery in Grayville.

Memorials may be made to the White County Ambulance Service and will be accepted at Cook Funeral Chapel in Grayville.

  1. I love this lady we work together for years we sure had ours ups and down but I love her like a sister.And to her family she loved you all you are in my prayers I know Marilyn will be missed.

  2. Marilyn was a wonderful lady! I worked with her at Sparton! She will be missed by many! She loved her family and friends!
