Margaret Rose White, 80, of Carmi, died Friday, January 4, 2013, at her home. She was born January 8, 1932, in Atoka County, Oklahoma, the daughter of Gustav and Allieb (Gailbraith) Von Mueller. On October 4, 1963, she married Donald White, and he survives.
Margaret was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints (Mormon) Church in Eldorado, Illinois. She had a broad spectrum of interests including quilting, wood working, wood carving, painting and gardening. For a time, she was a professional fisherman and she was an avid story teller. She worked at various jobs in the Carmi area, but spent most of her latter years as a homemaker, pursuing her interests, and spending time with her family.
Survivors include her husband, Donald White of Carmi; son Rodney White of Colorado; daughters Rhonda Smith of Ridgway and Robyn White of Carmi; brothers Connie (Barbara) Miller, Ed (Sue) Miller, Preston (Naomi) Miller, Bill (Billie) Miller; sisters Olga (John) Stuckey, Mildred (Delroe) Smith, all of Oklahoma; Mary Weaver of Texas, Barbara (Phil) Spiegel of Florida, and Patsy Smith of Oklahoma; grandchildren Courtney Ann Smith and Dylan James Smith, both of Carbondale; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents; daughter Alice Marie Flaherty White; brothers Gus and Carl Miller; sisters Burnett Kelley and Willie Mae Miller.
Visitation and funeral is Saturday, January 12th at Cook Funeral Chapel in Carmi. Visitation is at 10 am and funeral is at noon. Burial will be in White County Memorial Gardens.
