Lillian M. Taylor, 74, of Carmi, Illinois, died Sunday, January 6, 2013, at Way-Fair Nursing Home in Fairfield, Illinois. She was born October 13, 1938, in Phillips Township, White County, Illinois, the daughter of Mitchell and Mary (Carter) Stokes. She was married to William J. Taylor, and he preceded her in death.
Lillian was a retired school teacher and member of the Crossville United Methodist Church.
Survivors include a brother, Kenneth Edward “Ed” Stokes of Carmi, Illinois; uncle Newt (Joan) Carter of Fairfield; cousins Thelma Jo (Duane) White, Harvalee (Byron) Taylor, Richard (Lynn) Carter, Paulette Smith, Sam B. (Pat) Carter, Brad (Judy) Carter, Royce (Becky) Carter, Gary (Terri) Carter, R. Larry (Ann) Roberts, Donna (Larry) Bell, Judy (Melvin) Cowling, William E. (Jeananne) Samuelson, Elaine (Jim) Monihan, Sharon Songer, Fred (Dana) Sons, and Carol Sons.
She is preceded in death by her husband; parents; and sister-in-law Dorothy Stokes.
Visitation and funeral service are Wednesday, January 9, 2013, at the Crossville United Methodist Church in Crossville, Illinois. Visitation is at 8:30 am, and funeral is at 10:30 am. Burial will be at 3:30 pm, Wednesday in the Nokomis Cemetery in Nokomis, Illinois.
