(May 19, 1995 - January 7, 2014)

Gregory W. Dillman, 18, of Carmi, passed away in the early hours of January 7 from injuries sustained in a car accident. Those who knew him know that he has already claimed a prime tee time at Heaven’s premiere golf course.

Gregory (and he would be the first to tell you it’s “Gregory” not “Greg”!) was a 2013 graduate of Carmi-White County High School and had just completed his first semester at the University of Southern Indiana. In high school, he played varsity football for the Bulldogs for their 2011 and 2012 seasons. When not on the field, he was at the tee box at the Carmi Country Club. His friends remember him as a lover of anything outdoors: especially hunting and fishing.

Gregory is survived by his grandfather Bill Dillman of Carmi; parents Gary and Judy (Myers) Dillman of Carmi; his sister and brother-in-law Jaclyn and Anders Klintoe of Fairfax, VA; and his sister Kelsey Dillman of Carmi. He is also survived by his aunts and uncles Marcia and Gary Ridenour of Cape Girardeau, MO; Darryl and Twila Myers of Crawfordsville, IN; Joy and Ronnie Hileman of Peru, IN; and Chris and Molly Myers of San Francisco, CA. Fourteen cousins survive Gregory: Terri ,Troy, Trenton and Tori Bryan of Jackson, MO; Brian, Katherine, Evan, Oliver and Lucy Ridenour of Fort Worth, TX; Haley and Matt Carwile of Lansing, MI; Katey Hileman of Rensselaer, IN; and Shea Hileman of Peru, IN and Grace Myers of San Francisco, CA.

He is preceded in death by his maternal grandparents Bill and Beverly Myers of Crawfordsville, IN and his paternal grandmother Barbara Dillman of Carmi.

A visitation for Gregory will be Thursday, January 9th, 4-8 pm at Cook Funeral Chapel in Carmi. Funeral service will be Friday, January 10th, at 11 am at First Christian Church in Carmi. Callers will be received at the church after 8:30 am until funeral time.

In lieu of flowers, donation in Gregory’s honor can be made to The Gregory Dillman Memorial Fund. Contributions may be made at either service or at any First Bank location.
